A hinged box clad in tessellated horn, cut into small plates and fitted tightly across the form in the manner of Karl Springer. Springer built a career on exactly this: humble organic materials applied with obsessive precision until they read as luxury, and tessellated boxes remain the most collectible and most usable expression of it.
The surface shifts tone plate to plate, so the box carries a room without adding a color. It works on a coffee table, on a desk, or stacked under a lamp.
Not signed. Offered in the manner of Springer rather than as an attributed work.
Measures 12" W x 8" L x 8" H.
